River Sunset Synopsis

A story based on real events during World War II, which depicts what happened behind the scenes leading to the Bombing of Tokyo.

At dusk on March 19, 1942, allied aircraft landed at Yangon Airport only to find that the Japanese military had taken over the territory. The aircraft attempts to flee, but on the next day, the higher-ups receive news that the aircraft has been shot down and the passenger has gone missing.

They issue a rescue mission by reactivating Wumu Yilang into service. He is an underground spy who lives under the guise of a Japanese name and has been inactive for five years. Ye Biying is sent to assist Wumu Yilang, which begins a cooperation between the two.
